there is 2 cars driving around my area with strange rear plates, they are a black background with white writing :?: they look like the really old style (ie 1950's)

the first is a sri nova, and the 2nd is a brand new porsche GT2

does anyone know if thay are legal or not, if thay are why would someone spend 100k on on a porsche and fit illegal rear plates

And if he has a porche, then he probably doesnt give a crap for illegal numberplates. Th only penalty he can get, is a ?60 fine.

My mate drove a ferrari with a private plate (well, he got one made up to say MONEY - it wasn't registered or anything) and whenever he got stopped he'd just pay them the fine. And not bother taking it off, just keep paying fines every so often.  Said it was cheap. And worth it.

I have to say mine looked fairly cool. When I had em on mine it was glacier white with black bumpers, and the black plates looked wicked :D

i'll see if ican find a pic of it.

Having spent a while looking at old cars, The oldest I've seen is 1969 G reg, with Yellow plates.

Black plates are OK, but I personally think they look better when they're proper metal plates, and on older cars.

my dads 1973 reliant scimitar (3 litre V6 :) k reg - 1973 i think) had black plates till someone hit him. they looked so much better than the yellow ones on his car.
