View Full Version : Converting 1.0 to 1.2
Is there any difference in the wiring in the two engines?
A neighbour is looking to put a 1.2 in a 1.0 shell, and was asking me if there was any differences. From memory I thought there was a difference in the wiring, but could be very wrong!!!
You know about the mount don't you? Drivers side mount is different on a 1.0
IIRC the wiring is basiclkly the same apart from maybe having to change one or two starter connections. Well that was for 1.0- 1.3 anyways

Is the chassis leg different as well? It's not something I've looked at in any great detail!!!
Chassis leg/mounting point itself is the same, no welding involved but you need an OHC drivers side engine mount, e.g. a mount off any 1.2-1.6. Other 2 mounts are the same as all Novas obviously.
People told me you need to replace the 1.0 ignition live wire or something however i never seen a need to. 1.3 ran fine on all of the 1.0's wires.

That's great, cheers! Will pass it on to him.:thumb:
Are the driveshafts the same, or can I stick my arm into him for one of my sets?!!!
Drive shafts are the same iirc. Should be a easy conversion.
