looking for a DSLR, recommend please

hey guys and girls. im looking to buy a DSLR camera. i want to spend about 150-200 quid and am looking at a nikon D50,

what experiances have people had with these. and any other cameras people can recommend

i've got a Pentax istD*, a few years old (bought off MattVaughn on here) but is absolutely brilliant, simple and easy to use, and can pick up lenses cheap enough on ebay. if your a first timer with an slr i'd recommend getting on a course at your local college or reading lots of books! i've had mine 4 months and am still learning new things day to day
