Yesterday myself and 4 mates completed a 10k Tactical Commando Challenge in Bicton Park, Exeter. See here: http://www.commandochallenge.co.uk/challenge.asp

Some of you may be thinking, "yeah, easy etc.." but....

...For me personally this was a MASSIVE physical challenge. Some of you may recall i had a serious bike accident last year (see here: http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107476) which, along with a few other injuries of which my knee still struggles now, left my left femur looking like this under x-ray..

..so as you can imagine taking on something like this was a massive step for me! :D I am, however, pleased as punch that i started and finished the event yesterday! First run completed in 22 mins and the return run in 19 mins, i even sprinted for the last 100m

I will check the website later this week to get our teams overall finishing spot!

Cheers guys. It was tricky to start with, but with encouragement from the team and wanting to do it for myself i dug deep! Been doing lots of road cycling, running on hard ground is still abit of a no no. And i have been working in the gym.

Pin and screws are pretty much permenant, yes. They had to dislocate my hip to fit the pin, it is full length of the bone, so would be a massive operation to remove. At the moment it gives me no pain, gets stiff and abit sore in the cold, but other than that no problems.

Cheers. Yeah i was, didnt stay long mind. Was in abit of a foul mood TBH, hence my lack of socialising.....I think the lack of a finished car and seeing everyone out on track was abit depressing.
