Gearstick

Hi, jus wondering has any1 ever sawn/cut down they're gear stick to make it shorter?

my 'mate' done this to my car when i asked him to take my gear knob off and he couldnt get it off, without asking

Ive done this on a few of my novas before and im still weighing up whether to do it to my current one but it does feel good, alomost like a short shifter (but never having had a short shift linkage that statement is not actually true lol)

yea my mate at work said he did it to his old nova, said it was pretty cool, just dont wana do it and not like it. i bought a nova for spares today ill try it on that and see what its like, jus seeing if any1 else had done it, i had a corsa b before and nova gearstick is much taller

i took about 1 1/2 inches off my last one, was alright and looked a bit better, i just found myself leaning a little when going for 1st and 3rd (i sit right back...)

Yea I'll give it a go on the spare car I've got to see whether i like it or not, is it an 'easy' interchangeable part?

I had one cut almost perfect so i could rest my hand on the stick and press every button on the stereo whilst in third and my last nova the knob was level with the seat bolsters on my SR seats and it felt ace:thumb:

Wated to change gear knob on mine for awhile, but been put if because i dont wana ruin the shaft and linkage etc...

Also wanna change the handbrake handle, any one got any tips on doing this? looks like it aint coming off...
