removing of steering.help pls

hey guys i need some help in removing the steering wheel from my mk1 nova.i seems liek it is jammed in place.i found a thread saying that you pull it out by attaching a rope to a car and pull it.Does it work?any damage done?

buy a vauxhall steering wheel puller off ebay mate you can bend steering wheels beford theyll pop off duno why lol or theyl come off and break your nose i never managed to get one off yet lol
