are these basically the same as the bolt-on and cone ones? just i cant find anythinh else for my 1l that would fit

or would i just have to go the "bodge way"?
take the plastic pipe bit off, like below so its stumpy:

then remove the round air filter, and fit a cone one to the stumpy bit?

i have one of those still bolted to my engine outside...

but your not having it!

you could do as you've listed above, just get a bit of rubber intake pipe off one of them many cars you get your hands on and place the airfilter in front of the strut.

just a thought, can you not find an spi top hat bit to fit your car? i.e from cav 1.8's etc

edit--the in airbox ones are listed as "filterchargers" i believe, as oppose to a cone style "induction filter"

will do :thumb:

do they increase air intake and make the engine sound any better? or are they simply a replacement filter?

supposed to increase airflow, and possibly a little more noise, you'd get more noise making an induction kit, or leaving the original filter in and drilling holes round the outside of the pan. with a 1ltr in i wouldnt be too fussed about a cold air feed, but you could plumb one in if you wanted to

why not just fir the small type k&n, and do away with the bin lid bit altogether?

Just taking off the small bit and leaving it stumpy (with the standard filter) will make it sound better and inprove the airflow at least a little bit.

Better option on a 1.0 is to change the engine lol

but to be honest its about as much use as a plasticene dildo..

there will be a very small performance increase
