E16SE Rocker covers...

Does any other rocker cover fit the E16SE?

Im after a plain one but dont know where to look.....

i gots a 1.6 corsa rocker cover on my 1.2 (black plastic one!) looks good and fits a dream! it should be possible, i mean the CAM carriers are pretty much the same shape, just with different bits and bobs added for other thingy-ma-jjiggers!

Any smallblock OHC 8v rocker cover fits IIRC. Do you mean you still want a raised SRi/GSi one but with no lettering?

Astras, Corsas etc etc, plenty on eBay last time I looked or should be able to find one on here.

Cool, i wasnt sure if 'E' class engines were interchangeable with 'c' class ones..

Il just feckin try and see instead of taking up valuable internet space haha

Yeah the C14SE and C16SE ones fit the E16SE cam carrier :thumb:

actually can i just ask, whats the difference between black and silver rocker covers.... i mean the engines that they were bolted to?? (no one say colour or they loose rep lol)

IIRC around 1992/3 they changed them after a revamp?

Probably cheaper to make.

both types will fit but they do have different gaskets the alloy one is cork and the plastic one is rubber

i dont think i got a gasket on mine, not seen a drop of oil since i put it on!!

I meant was there any mechanical defferences between engines (more specifically the Cam itself) with the black rocker cover and the silver as wandering about my local breakers i seen same ages cars there some with silver and some with black
