Has it over heated at all? Best think to do is flush the system out and get some clean water in and also antifreeze.

If it doesn't clean after giving it a flush out then It could of gone :(

Probably short distances are culprit providing no other tell tale signs!

A good run out should help it/or give system a good flush out as those engines in AX love eating headgaskets (Peugeot TU engine type) so keep cooling system tip top!

Well is there any sign of water on the dipstick? and whats the oil filler cap like?

If eather of them are googy then its prob HG, but it could also be due to short trips.

that could just be condensation, built up over along time, its found in breather pipes and oil caps on vehicles that do short journey's especially. the 'TU' engine is prone to blowing headgaskets so it mayb worth going to a garage and asking them to run a 'sniffer' test on the header tank while the vehicle is running, this will show if the head gasket is gone.

Thats highly suspect to be on the rad cap and in the rad.... you'd expect that on the oil system.. not water.

Daves right with regards to headgasket fail on the TU's... but, if you dont catch this in time you could be looking at replacement engine if left to over heat. Ally head and block means there forever warping and mainly found when had has been skimmed and replaced to find water pee-ing out 2-4 corners of the engine.... nice lol

and checked dip stick and was black. so all good

will tell her to drive it more lol
and will do a flush on it sometime

I would still get a garage to run a test to check the headgasket because as saloony states it an alloy engine, if she runs it with the gasket gone she'll do catastrophic damage to the engine over time.
