My car is making a squeak whn i put clutch down does anyone have an idea why it is a 1.5td if tht helps

its a standard nova noise.. they all do it, and if they DONT then there is a problem lol

oh and for the record, try making the post title a bit more interesting ;)

mine did ti really bad when i bought it, but we did soemthing to the cable and now its as silent as a fart in a library :D

never heard that one before,
but yeh that squek from the pressing down on the clutch has happened in all my noves, bloody annoying i know but turn up the music or push it down really fast :P

Yup all novas do it and most vaux's do, my cav didnt do it at first but i was missing my old nova so she started doing it to make me feel better lol

My Nova does it if you bugger about with the clutch pedal but if your driving normally it doesn't do it that loudly

Nothing to worry about I wouldn't think lol

Thanks for all replies guys im not brilliant with all this mechanics stuff and sorry stuart for not making it more intresting but im new to this posting stuff so giv me chance il get better lol

A new clutch cable can quieten it down (sometimes cure it), but it'll either still be there or come back fairly soon.

i just doused it in dw40 lol the mechanism, where it squeaks. cured it for me

yeah WD40 will kill it for a short time, more permanent solution is a blob of grease on the end of a long screwdriver, you need to lube the 'figure of 8' shaped hole in the top of the clutch pedal into which the cable spigot slots. By now you will get stuck in that position and need someone to pull on your feet to extricate yourself. Been there many times!
