Right, its a track car and everything has been stripped out, the floor is scratched to buggery and I wanted to tart it up a bit.

I've chipped all the sound deadening away from the drivers footwell and painte dit with white hammerite...

Bit it doesn't look too hot :( I want to pain all of the interior eventually once the cage is fitted.

Anyone got pics of hand painted interior? And whats the best method to apply the paint? Small roller or brush?

Cheers

why dont you spray it?

I would, but I've got to cart a load of stuff inthe car to do the work on it, then grind bits out and weld plates in etc...

Then I dont want to spray once the cage is in as i'll get overspray everywhere

if i was you id take seats out and give the whole floor a spray. wont take long at all. either remove or mask the windows up and just open the doors. and then once the cage is in and you've done any alterations just spray it again but be careful.

i sprayed my interior matt black with a red cage in and didnt get any overspray, but i just did a quick job.

eitherway, itl be better than painting with a brush...

I guess... I'll have a think. I kind of went ott on the painting and painted right up behind the pedals and everything lol

I might stay with hammerite and roller it, I know how hard wearing it is and the original paint thats in there is all worn and scratched, so if I sprayed it, it wouldn't last long.

Has anyone got any advice on paint with a tin of paint?

maybe you should leave the footwells painted like you've done it but spray the rear for a better finish and nothing should ever touch it really so cant really get scratched or whatnot.

i used white gloss smooth hammerite on my interior. just brushed it on. 2 coats and it looks pretty good.

I brushed painted the inside of mine and my mates track/autotest Nova

Used 'Hammerite Smooth' for a base coat so thats its very durable and then went over it with some 'Dulux 'One Coat' Gloss' lol

Believe it or not its actually quite good lol

We done up to where the door-cappings would be as thats painted orange and we wanted to make it look a bit more interesting inside

Heres all the pics I have:

We left the sound-deadening in as we're not too bothered that much...

PM me if you need to ask any more questions

Hope that helped a wee bit

Came out better then I expected as well - Minimal brush marks as well

It'll do for hammering about the track anyway :)
