View Full Version : how can i tell if i have 22spline shafts?
I know its mainly gtes, but heard some early gsi had them as well. Mines a h reg gsi, is there a way i can tell without removing the cv joint?

You should be able to count the splines if you just peel back the boot and wipe the grease off.
Im lazy and the shafts are still on my car. Im sure there was somthing on here about a slight bump where the cv boots sits? Cant remember who it was that could tell
Boots go smaller where they are fastened onto the cv's with 22 spline ones, the 28 spline ones have boots that fasten on at there widest point.
Hard to explain!

I thought that was just on the cav 1600 inners, not the Nova ones?

Both as I always keep the nova boots on when converting as the cav inners don't usually come with them from my local motorfactors.
lol, cool, as I was going to post that originally and then developed a complete lack of confidence in the facts
