is there a knob there for the actual temp control?

look at your heater controls
the fan speed switch comes of as a whole unit (the knob doesnt come off) the other two do come off

so in answer to your question yes there is

There is 3 knobs in the centre of the dash. You have only photos of 2. Just to help.

the one in the middle (fan speed knob) if you try to remove it you will find it comes out as a full unit (the knob doesnt come off )
