anyone know there stuff on quads? I am looking into buying one for this summer or next. I want something around 400cc or more. Seen some yahama and suzuki's that are quite cool.
Anyone got one/ridden one that they liked?

Cheers

Not really into quads TBH. Road or off-road?

Ah. Dont see the attraction TBH. Get a bike.

Mate had a Polaris. Was quite tidy.

Dont have a bike license and cba going through it all. Just thought they are quick, fun cheap to insure and outrun some quick cars :)

Not sure about "cheap" insurance. Have you got a quote? As for out running cars... all well and good till you come to a corner and tip it over :p

There acualy hard to tip over depending on which. I had a go on a few and found that you could stick them ino a corner and come out the otherside on all 4 (unless you was giving it too much 3 lol) However i did manange to roll one though, but only because it was offroad and in a rut..

But back to the point of this thread. Id have a look around, i thought about getting one before but the insurance cost wasnt worth it for me.

As long as there not cheapo crappy ones then it should be fine. See if you can find one to try for size and have a little buzz about on before spending your dosh.

dont tip if your going side ways, but not on the road only in the fields :)

Your response is abit pointless then. Seeing as he wants it for road use....

should of worded it differently, was meant to say don't go sideways on the road only in fields.

had a quote on a raptor 700R as they are pretty much top of the range? for about £600 so a 450cc should be cheaper.

Yamaha Raptors are pretty much the top ones, yeah. £3000 to buy though. Was that fully comp?

You will die on a quad, they are slow compared to the bike alternatives, any time you see the police you will more than likley get pulled, they are **** off road compared to a bike/golf kart.

Can you tell i'm not keen on quads? get a bike test done and you will have much more fun on a bike.

Quads a great fun on the road..... well seeing as I am 16 it seems good (farmer) iv got a 500cc honda which does 60mph which is not bad for a 4wd farm bike. My mates got a few race bikes which scare the sh*t out of me, his main bike matches most fast motor bikes and round corners i cant fault them as long as you can drive them properly they are very fast not just in a straight line. motor way??? hmmmm not sure I think that may be the only restricted place, I know I cant on my licence.
