hey, i have ordered my front panel now and looking to do it soon. what advice can people give me.

and are they any precautions to doing it with the engine still in?

any past experiance is very useful:)

Obviously remember to strip the loom back off and away from the front panel.

And take out gearbox sender wire and horn wires out etc and set the whole loom away from the front so that it won't be cut by accident.

Take measurements form your car before removing it. Will help when it comes to fitting the new one. Have a look at my WIP, major headaches TBH lol

Cover your engine with blankets stop grinding particles entering places you dont want. I cut mine out in thress sections, but that was a newly welded in one. Drill out spots, get a decent drill and spot weld drill bits.

id be tempted to make a brace of some sort, so the shell doesnt move. but you dont have to. like above, spot weld drills ftw, try screwfix matey.

For just the headlight/slam panel a brace is abit over kill IMO. Full frontal then yeah...

Wow that thread is oold lol

But like i said on msn martin, bolt everything on, tiebars, lights, grill, bumper, wings etc etc etc, then tack it in place if you havnt already.

I didnt do the above and am now struggling with fitment of parts.
