I know to use the 4spd selector you cut a bit off it to get 5th (base of gearlever part) . . but where is the bit you remove?

the bit of plastic that stops the gear stick moving over to 5th, pull the gater up an push the stick over to neutral and aim for were 5th would b (next to 3rd) ull see were the plastic lugs hits the stick, chop it off an sorted, bit long winded but that will sort it

pmsl You funny man...

Its really easy and obvious once you look at it. Cut the lug off flush with the main part of the nylon mount bit.

Cool cheers for that

I thought it was that bit but when I compared it to the SR which is a 5spd that had lug as well but still got 5th so wanted to check before I get the hacksaw out!

this is the 5spd gear stick. u need to cut a small piece out so its the same as this. other than that the 5speed will go straight in

there is still a lot to be said for fitting the complete 5 speed selector assembly. and it still has a 5 speed knob on it.

you can change the knobs over, just heat them up and they pop off, not only that but i got a aftermarket one (shonkey yet it doesnt show going to get some vxl richbrook suff when i can)

but if you get the 5 speed stick, then it simply is a bolt it in job, not 'lets start hacking it about' job

I've never heard of a std nova gearstick being shortened, but apart from the Knurled bit being cut off, I can't see why not...

well thats what contact adhesive is for :D think i might lop an inch or so off mine and 1 the selector throw is huge (i know quickshift solves this but aint got cash for one!) and 2 its like a foot long sticking out the centreconsole!

the knurled bit is quite a bit wider than the reat of the stick if my memory is what it was, but go for it.
