Reluctantly decided to sell my Nova GSi rally car.
This car is probably one of the most successful Group N cars left. Professionally built in 1992, runner up in the junior championship of the BRC in 1993 with class wins on the Ulster and Manx. I then bought the car and scored many BTRDA and club class wins in ’94 and ’95, and won the overall club championship in ’95. I then sold the car and bought it back, having known the 2 previous owners and still in it's original state, in 2005.
Shell is original, and had been garaged for most of it’s life, so there is surface rust in places but no rot. Has done over 50 forest rallies, so well used and not exactly concours, but is still pretty strong and straight. Has been lightly rolled once, and jigged in 1995 following a front end knock. The car was put on the jig again a few years ago to check alignment (it was fine) and has not competed since.
Spec includes seam welded and strengthened shell with SD bolt in cage with door bars and forward triangulation to the strut tops (a must for any Nova). Excellent standard GSi engine, covered around 32000 miles, new Shell Helix changed every event. Competition engine mounts, competition exhaust system, all lines inside car, Motordrive Kevlar drivers seat (tatty), Magnum passenger seat, brand new fuel pump, navigators footrest, full GSi body kit including genuine bumpers. Car is currently running stock 1400 shafts and struts.
The car needs some work and general re-preparation- it has been stripped recently, but has since been hastily reassembled and although I have driven it, has not been used in anger. Will probably need pulling apart and re-building.
The car requires a gear cluster, diff, rear shockers headlights and front brake callipers to make mobile: none of these parts are fitted or included.
The Compomotive’s are NOT included in the sale- the car will come rolling on forest tyres and 14” steel wheels.
Overall a rally car with great history and a winning pedigree that now needs some TLC and attention. I have hundreds of photographs, some videos and in-car footage, and the car features several times on the BBC’s BRC review from 1993- copies of the video are always on Ebay.
Price is £650. No offers, and will NOT be breaking, so no need to ask.
