View Full Version : good earth
just wondering where every1 has there amp earthed to in the boot. i know the boot catch is good but my lead doesnt fit on it that well.
Just earth to a hole that is there by the catch, just below near carpet! Rub off paint and make sure its metal to metal good solid connection with smallest earthing cable possible!

Don't forget to re-rust proof the site of the earth after you've hooked up to it!
Plus it can be a good idea to earth your H/U amps etc all to the same point to avoid a 'ground loop'

you only need put a fuse IN your amp, and also in the fatest red wire at the battery end
fusing a negative wires is POINTLESS.

that means smallest LENGTH cable possible. closer to the earthing point the better, use the correct guage / wattage amp wiring kit for the amp.
woow i forgot bout the post, thought u meant thicknes of wire, and i meant fuse every aplication seperatly,
to come our ot retirement for a brief second.
DO NOT FUSE NEGATIVE/EATRH!
Its dangerous to fit fuses to earths and negatives. say the negative one blew, there would still be a supply of current/voltage from the postive, which can cause problems
/me back into retirement
wtf....WHO SAID ANY THING ABOUT FUSING EARTHS!!!???
