got a nova redtop with a f16.ive got a f18 box is that better?? or is it f20 all the way.also what is the difference please.cheers for your help:)

Most use F20's (what they come with as standard). F16 is good if its a CR box.

Not alot of difference between the f16/f20 as long as they're both cr boxes. IIRC its the diff bearings that blow on the f18s, Just avoid them.

Bang on with the bearings, when they go they tend to spit the diff out, makes a right mess.

F18 are poo, think they have chocolate inside them ! they got even worse when it was put into the vectra

ud only beable to use an F18 from a cavalier as they had a cable clutch, vectra had a hydraulic set up

F20 was fitted by the manufacturer, so id follow there lead

f16 can take 160lb ft of torque i believe, f20 can take 200.

i think thats the numbering theory

as far as i am aware the number will mean sustained torque capacity in NM.

ie

f20 200nm
f28 28nm

and so on

i knew it was something to do with torque, couldnt remember wether it was LB or NM
