St White Nova Gsi Project

hi peeps i bought a bog standard Gsi nova last year stolen recovered with 28,000 gen miles on it for a very cheep £1500 BUT it was summer time and i just got my licence back and totally thrashed it and clipped a crash barrier needless to say the car wasnt looking good at all.

i now have decided to remove the car from use in the winter months and use the winter as project time.

we are in the middle of smoothing the bumpers, side skirts and rear bumper next is full respray in FOCUS ST FROZEN WHITE with the side skirts, door handles and boot grab handle going a nice CUSTOM RAGE BLACK. the car has been de-locked with an izuzu trooper vent and 2 astra gsi vents in the bonnet, CUSTOM COSWORTH EXHAUST EXIT will be going on it next week and white 16'' speedline allesios with red griffin center caps, big brakes from 2.0 16v, fully ajustable fk super-tech coilovers and hoping but next week full car poly bushed.

this coming winter i am hoping to drop a 2.0 130 SEH engine with a F16 box in it, better coilovers, roll cage and front strut brace.

on way home from paint shop my indicator must of fell out, theres one on route though. clear rear lights are on order + Gsi vinyl and logos on way.

it was a young lad in carluke called ross allan, who is trying to start his own wee buisness up. he gave me loads of ideas and tips on what paint would turn out the best he wanted me to go for white with a red pearl but focus st frozen white was the choice of colour. he done a full respray, vents in the bonnet, smooth out bumpers, door locks, wiper motor and a repair on my offside headlight all for £500 + a 6 month garentee. i had an old tigra i was going to send to the scrap but he offered me £300 off the price of the paint job. good deal if you ask me! :thumb:

yeah i was thinking that, the isuzu scoop is abit much but keeps the engine nice and cool. it would help when i decide to go for the c20let but unfortunatly im stuck with the crappy 1.6 8v :cry:

oh no, blown engine!!!!! hi peeps thot i better keep you updated on the nova, i was driving on the m74 and i looked in my rear view to see a load of blue smoke...... yes blue smoke! dropped 2 valves, 2 bores, 2 pistons and whole bottom end fooked noticed some back pressure from the afm and through the rocker cover and onto the bonnet as you can see in the pictures. i will be replacing the engine by friday, hopfully a mint show engine. will keep you all updated on whats happening next.

heres what i done before the engine blew, new clear rear lights and a full custom exhaust, didnt want to go too big, nice wee 3 and a half incher and big brake upgrade will get better pics up when the better weather arrives.

hi peeps better keep you all up to date on the project, i got my wee mini garage set out the back of work lol. i decided to finally add my coilovers for the second time due to not having spacers. i got the FK Super-techs fully ajustables at the front and a fixed 60mm at the back but now i aint happy with the rear ride hieght, 90mm me thinks!

monge blanc peeps, just a wee update to tell you all whats happning with the project.
last night me and the doogz (dougie_boi) went to wolverhampton to pick up mikes lovely, rebuilt, immaculate engine which im well impressed with, thanks mike! :thumb: this is the spec of the engine that mike built:

E16SE engine with F13CR box, originally done 81k, been completely stripped down & rebuilt from scratch, lightened balanced fly, ported head with wasted valve seats, de-resticted & knife edge throttle body, reworked AFM, polished pistons, removed EGR, 3.0bar FPR, new head/sump/rocker gasket, new cambelt, new tensioner, new tappets, followers & thrust pads, x3 brand new engine mounts recon alternator, silicone auxillary hoses in blue, A1 condition, perfectly clean & painted (show engine) fully drained of oil & water, comes with ECU/loom & gearlinkage. Not even been run in yet!!

hopfully have engine will be in and running buy friday and hopfully kicking out about 110bhp.

this engine was riggys before mikes and was told he ran an awsome time at santa pod with this engine before it was rebuilt.

hopfully i can beat that time lol :thumb:

:wtf: whats wrong with the alloys? speedlines look much better than cav slabs, i was going to keep the original wheels but there to skinny and cant hold the road, 1.2 maybe? everyone has there own tastes bud i was going to keep it all original but modding got the better of me lol , just thank god im not putting a big bodykit on it because bodykits on novas are terrible look chav-ish lol as for the seats i hate them myself and will be upgrading them to much nicer, tidyer seats soon.

mong blanc peeps, good progress now, got the old engine ripped out and removed the gearbox from the new engine and fitted a new clutch, pressure plate and thrust bearing then put engine into car without any troubles apart from the chains slipped off the chains nearly took dougie out the game.... close call lol

not to sure, its alot of money to do it, but i will find out abit more about turbo'in the e16se i have a friend who might to be able to get a t2 turbo cheep, i will decide once the engine gets properly run in 20,000 or so.

its not to bad bud, still running in. wont know how quick it is until i get a few thousand done. MIKE (the boy who rebuilt this engine recons it will be 110+bhp after a remap. i will need to get more pics up soon, been letting this thread slip abit lol

mong blanc peeps, good progress now, got the old engine ripped out and removed the gearbox from the new engine and fitted a new clutch, pressure plate and thrust bearing then put engine into car without any troubles apart from the chains slipped off the chains nearly took dougie out the game.... close call lol
