Come up good! Get some matt black on the bumpers and boot grab and imo would look tidy. Then some wheels, lowered, the usual kind of things..it deserves it.

Although, those doors do look to be bubbling.

Rickyb
14-04-09, 07:52 PM
yea doors are starting to bubble but still really solid.
and it wants other work before i start putting big wheels on it and stuff im planning on putting a back panel in it the lower front panel is knackerd so its gonna have a full front panel aswell other than that its just patching here and there. thanx for the comment matt.

Rickyb
14-04-09, 08:18 PM
not sure on engine as im not a big fan of big block but i have got a 1400sr head with a cam in it and ive been offerd a 1400sr bottom end which was built for track which is all lightend and balenced but its spun a shell so was thinking of a powerfull(ish) 1400 sr if i could have the bottom end rebuilt. and no i havnt got any panels yet but it shouldnt be far off.

yes i serpose i might aswell. interior i was gonna have two bucket seats a dash and nothing else but my missus wants to use it when she passes her test in a couple of months so i might see about a gsi trim or some leather ford recaro's but theres loads of time for all that yet.

Rust will keep you occupied for a while if no one reply's on your wip lol

Must admit it's something I don't envy you on mate. My last sr was in a state and had about 20 hours welding needed in the engine bay alone, that was even before the battery tray and around the bulk head .

Keep at it mate :thumb:

so the next thing i did was try the bonnet but it wouldnt line up at all
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa254/The-big-man/Photo259.jpg
so then off it went to my mates bodyshop to be straightend
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa254/The-big-man/Photo270.jpg
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa254/The-big-man/Photo271.jpg
so then it returned again all paneled up and straight so i thought i best start painting the bumpers and building the car up
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa254/The-big-man/Photo272.jpg
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa254/The-big-man/Photo275.jpg
the front bumper didnt fit right for some reason so i went and bought another front but fitted the rear.

Who smashed the roof in on the old shell

I bet it could of been fixed. :p

Rickyb
30-05-09, 07:48 PM
one of my mates jumped on the roof. and the car could have been repaired but it wanted bits of chassis and it was just going to cost far to much to be repaired. Ive only got £300 in the pair of them with all the bits and everything and the j reg one is MOT'd till november so it just seemed the best way.

Rickyb
01-06-09, 08:45 PM
well people that outside is basicly done i need a new grille as the clips on the back are broken. Major update tho the engine is in and running i will get pictures tomorow. ive had some troble with it as ive had to change the full car loom from a 1.0 to the 1.2 loom but now i need to sort a return to the tank as it doesnt have one does anyone have any ideas how to do this without changing the fuel tank?thanx
rick.

Sloth
01-06-09, 08:49 PM
just run it back to the tank, drill a hole in the top, fit a pipe and chem metal it in. easy

Rickyb
02-06-09, 08:32 AM
