hellooo,

think im getting an astra van, so ive been looking into them and a 2.0sportive has come up which seems rather nice!

does anyone know where i can find information on what the differences are between the 2.0 sportive di, 1.7cdti ect!

DI are the 'old' type of diesel engine where the pump does all the work, CDTI are the common rail ones which tend to be more powerful and more refined but are much more expensive to fix if they go wrong.


DI ones are more likely to run on things like veg oil, the common rail diesel engines are fussy about what goes in them. I've got a 2.0 TDCI ford and it runs brilliantly on shell or bp diesel, but like a bag of spanners on tesco fuel.
