I have been wondering if anyone has done a sequential gearchange kit to suit a nova????????
This could be a blind alley, but I was looking at something in Cars & Car Conversions Mag (available from all good newsagents just below porn) and it struck me that the actual workings of the gearbox ie. selector shafts/forks don't look any different between H pattern & SEQ boxes, the main difference is in the linkage.

There are solenoid clutches available via motability dealers, and microswitches and digital displays are easy enough to get hold of.

Please don't give me stick about synchros & straight cut gears, cos a lot of GT racers still have helical boxes, and synchros were invented by Dr Porsche.

I look forward to the replies

it wont be cheap. bear in mind that quafie charge ?2-3K for a seq box.

and it would require quite a lot of smart arse electronics to get it right. eg a prodrive system is ?3k before you add the software to run it lol

good idea though

the reason that they charge so much is cos they can.
You have initial costs to design & test the kit, then the actual production is quite cheap.

I'll keep thinking about it, and if I have a Eureka (or is it Ulrika?) moment in the bath, I'll post it
