yeah the cam will fit. cam belt side will time up. you may want to check the drive for the distrubutor as im not sure whether this will match up. you might want to check out the cam lift and duration differences to see if its worth you time swapping the cams over.

easy swap, so long as the dizzy drive matches up, the 1.6 cam has a higher lift (not sure about duration) i put a 1.6 cam in my 1.2 and it goes fine and is a bit more pokey then it was before!

check the identification stamp on both camshafts.
'd'- gsi gte cams have inlet has 5.61mm lift
exhaust has 6.12mm lift not sure on duration.
post up you 1.3 cam ident letter see what response you get.

It'll run at the least, providing the GTE cam has a lobe for the fuel pump, which i doubt, seeing as it used an electric pump!

good point admittidally that slipped my mind-
solution- external fuel pump with a regulator to keep the pressure low. job done. oh and providing all the notes above are ok....

I could be wrong, but I thought the 1.3 or maybe 1.4 sr had the most aggressive cam as standard. Also the GTE cam will be more suited to a smoother running fuel injection engine rather than the carb. But try it and see.
