You've already answered your question, it is a direct replacement, just get a garage to adjust it for emissions

yeh but surely its a different looking carb??

wonderin where the hoses throttle cable will go.

its all pretty self explanatory

the throttle cable goes on the thing looking a bit like a cam in a kinda D shape.

the choke is a simple lever affair and you screw it on like on a bicycle brake, the fuel gus in LOL (only one place for it)

if you have a return feed, u need a t piece and place this between the fuel pump and carb

the vacuum advance goes onto the thing that is round and shaped like a flying saucer (if u ever ate them sweets! - sherbet in the middle) its gold in colour.

and there is another pipe which you put a scre in the end and block it, and as for your crankcase breather vent it to the floor or buy a mini filter.

I had a 32/34 dmtl on mine for a while.

It used a manual choke cable instead of the autochoke that was on the standard 1.4 carb. Manual choke i found much better anyway.

Cant remember if it had a return or not.

Needed an adapter plate to go onto the inlet manifold tho. Converted the three stud fixing to a four stud fixing.

u might need a new gasket as well.

Good carb tho.

one thing i did and is a good idea

port the inlet manifold, so instead o having two circular inlets, make it like a BIG number 8 and enlarge the holes loads

thought it just went straight on. so will i have to buy an adapter plate? how much and where do you get these?? also will porting the inlet manifold cause a much larger fuel economy cus its an everyday car aswell.

wont change economy as such cos it depends hwo much the carb pputs through not the size of the inlet, obviously if u boot it all the time the bigger space means mroe fuel can get through, but on its own it wont increase.

when you buy a weber 3234 you buy an apropirate fitting kit for whatever car as they fit loads of different engnies but obviously differences between manufacturer eg ford and vaux

i got mine from a guy on this site. so take it i wont need the adaptor plate.

could you tell me a bit more about porting the inlet pls (my first nova and i've only really covered some basics so far :D )

cheers

when u remove the carb from the manifold, u will see two circular holes (DEPENDING - on the manifold - il check tonight if theres a difrence in manifolds im unsure)

anyway

you will see two circular holes

turn it into one, a big number 8 in effect, so that the holes then line up with the carb better as well because the holes on the carb are 32 and 34 mm hence the name think the manifold is in its 20's

ill check everything out tonight and post again

most small engineering firms will do it for you on their milling machine for a few pennies.

print of the pic and who em what you kinda want
