Hi,

A couple of weeks ago the check engine light stopped turning on at Ignition 'On'. I assumed it was a blown globe, but then yesterday and today, the car wouldn't start (once was cold, other was warm). I retried to start 30 seconds later and it started instantly on both occasions.

Checked the wire going to the Check engine lamp, and it only goes up to 0.05V when on Ignition 'On', so this appears to not be working..? I am testing it with a multimeter at the green plug on the loom.

I am unsure whether these 2 issues are related or not. Next time it doesn't start, I will check whether the fuel pump wire is getting 12v.

Have you tried a new bulb?

No, I was going to connect it to one of the other lights, but I checked the voltage with a multimeter instead, which was only going to 0.05 volt.

Are both your perminent +ve and ignition +ve present and correct? Have you checked your earth straps?

The car has new earth straps. IGN and Permanent 12v wires are reading ok now, but I will check them when it does not start again.
