View Full Version : Tailgate hinges (mk1>mk2?)
Just tried trial fitting my early mk1 tailgate to my mk2 and it wouldn't go - the hinges seem a few mm off where they need to be.
Has anybody else encountered this and how have they overcome it? I assume it's tolerance related and not a difference between the mk1s and mk2s?
Thanks
yeah i have the exact same trouble with mine at the mo it looks like it all lines up ok but cant close the bootlind properly
They should be the same. ive fitted a mark1 boot to a mark2

Just Vauxhall tolerances then, nothing a big hammer won't fix.

i had the same problem with mine all i did was adjust the mk2 hinges (untightened and moved them slightly then tightened back up (obviously)) and it fitted and lined up fine :thumb:

If it's within 5mm each way, it'll do!
