eco-tech lumps are more restricted in the fact that they are builty to a higher emmision regulation, they are less powerfull due to the fact they have a more restricted CAT. there is more wiring due to haveing a few more sensors. just read something interesting about the redtop..... was put into a lada?!?!?! still back to engines, imo stick to the redtop if you can get one, only go with an eco-tech if you cannot find the ol school one.

We had a huge arguement about these two engines just a few weeks ago, scroll through a few pages or use the search.

But as far as the ecotech (or X20XEV) goes, swap the inlet for throttle-bodies, the cams for something with a bit of life to them, the exhaust manifold for a 4-2-1, and make sure the oil pump is in good condition and you'll have it upto around 180bhp with the standard management.

Of course with a C20XE (dizzy version) you can just bolt a set of 40's or 45's on and not be far off that output, and save about £2000-£2500 doing so.
