does any1 think it would be a good idea to remove the bump strips and spray the black parts of my sr carmine red(not the bumpers!) as i have a new door coming and it dont have the black or the bump strips.

Sr's have vinyl so you just remove the vinyl from underneath the bumpstrips

yep, the black bit your referring to is vinal. You can peel this vinal off by carefully using a hairdryer to heat it up and then peeling back. It's a time consuming job, but with care and patience, it can be done, and done well. I found getting some "tar remover" from halfords helps with getting any small bits of vinal off your car. Once the bumpstrips and vinal is off, make sure you give the sides a really good polish to eleminate and marks. Chances are you might have a slight colour difference where the exposed red paint has faded. Some T-cut and elbow grease should help to restore the original colour.

Good Luck

sure is easy enough to put back like u say

BUT

itll cost ya!

proper vauxhall kits for vinyl dont come cheap (does anything from that parts counter place!!!!!!)

so if u do decide u dont like and wana go back, perhaps buy a large sheet of it from your local sign shop?

Yeah i get lots cheap
As for the vinyl, u could try using a fudge wheel, less work for yourself on the smaller bits!

if you don't want to use vinyl, mask up and spray it matt black.
I have seen many Novas like this and looks perfect
