Anyone any ideas?

Only thing I've tried to do is put my speedo back in. I've checked the wires behind the dash but they all look fine.

Have you that dim dip relay connected on the side of the shelf on the drivers side? When that balls's it does that.

Is that in the passenger footwell? If it's on the mk1 it's probably there as I have never taken it off. Would this all of a sudden go faulty then. Is it okay to just disconnect it then?

Its on the shelf anyway. Yeah just disconnect it. And yeah it does, often. Go do it. Report back lol
it will be on the drivers side fixed to the back of the lower dash tray.
It's a little black box.

Right I have found the little black box and unclipped the connecter. The problem is now I have no sidelights :(
The headlights work though and so does main beam, but no sidelights until I plug it back in then headlights and side lights come on together
I've looked at both the 10amp fuses for the headlights and they ain't blown.
Any ideas ?????

sounds like the relay you unpluged needs to be replaced

Does anyone have one they want rid of (Ernie) :D ???
Is there a way to bypass the dipped / sidelight relay box thingy? My mk2 never had one :(

thing is a relay is pretty much a switch that will engage when ya turn sidlights on so without leaving sidlights on perm or not having them at all (sorry officer!) then i dont think so
NBC Here! I have a BRAND new one! PM me!
