i have a Kent AST2 cam to go onto my 1200 bottom end. i understand that this is a cam "safe" engine and also already has pockets in the pistons, but would i need to pocket them further or should this be safe to run with the clearances?
cheers

I wouldn't count on it being valve safe any more myself, and there's no point in machining the std pistons anyway.
Just hope the belt doesn't strip/snap on you, and dont drop it into third (going for 5th) when doing 90 in fourth like I did once!

cheers, dont think it willl be safe, just wanted to know if the clearances are ok as standard
yes the clearences are fine as std. you have to hit 5mm of lift @ tdc to start causing problems on the 1.2 engine ;)
