I just got me a k-reg Nova 1.2 sxi... its bog standard with clear rears off my last Nova,

The plan is... 1.4i or Sri engine, -60mm, 17s, buckets, Digi dash, bla bla...

Wanna know how easy to fit a 1.4sri into a 1.2i, I'm thinkin a 1.4i (spi) will go in on the same loom but will a 1.4sri ?

Then 17s, what offset is best, sum say et49 and some et45... Gonna get spax kit, -60mm springs adj' shocks set nice and hard,

I'll stick some good pics up soon...

Cheers, Andy.

Pics would be good for idias to :D

1.4sri will need loom hacking

why didn't u just buy an sri?

1.2i 45bhp
1.4i 65bhp <<< still less than a carbed 1.4!!
1.4sr 72bhp
1.4sri 82bhp

I like the sound of an Injection engine, carbs rasp wen ya put exhaust on,
Cant insure an sri, was gonna get a 1.4i merit but the guy sold it Grrr, so i got the sxi,
Will probz just stick a 1.4i in out of a corsa, can i get sri power or more?

Novas with twin cabs sound even better :)

With regards to the 17's, I think et45-49 is the offset that a Nova can handle. Either way you're going to need to get your arches rolled or have the lip ground off to avoid any scrubage.

Depending on what internal engine mods you do from your 1.4i engine, you should be able to get Sri power, if not more. Take your time with the mods and make sure whoever does the conversion knows what tehre doing.

Intenal mods won't bump up the insurance. Uprated camshafts lokk no different, and an extra 50cc in the bores coupled with some porting are very difficult to spot.

Carltocrazy,

why buy an SR to fit 40's on? Why not just fit them to the 1.4spi engine? Its not difficult.

as a side note i think the SPi units are equally as good as the carbs fitted to the cars originally

the problem is that GM limited the cars severly by fitting shite cams, a worse head(on the 1.2 anyway), a weasly exhaust and a CAT

if u took a 1.4SPi and used SR/SRi parts them im sure it would put out equal power - SRi exhaust system to keep the lambda probe, a decat, SR camshaft, and induction kit and im sure you'll get that 60bhp 1.4i upto 72bhp at the very least

look at what u get from simply decatting the 1.4SRi, that shows the cats they use must be really restrictive

on an even more of a side note - will a 1.4 corsa ECU run a 1.4i SPi nova engine (its the same engine but is the wiring loom the same?) - im guessing the 1.2 ecu will underfuel running a 1.4i, i scrapped the 1.4 nova i had with the ECU in it and i can only find a corsa 1.4 :/
