what exactly is the law concerning these? tempted to buy one but no real point if you can't use it without getting your pants pulled down by the local police

Private land usage only. Ride it on the street and the police will confiscate and may fine you. No tax, MOT etc rules apply.
I used to ride mine in an old air craft hanger. Was used for go karting and super moto'd pit bikes aswell.
Have a search for mini moto forums (www.minimotoclub.com (http://www.minimotoclub.com)) springs to mind. They have a national map with places to ride.
Some motocross practice tracks now have separate tracks for off roaded pit bikes.

They are off road machines designed to be used off road, so if you use it off road (not on public highway) There will be no pant pulling. Minimoto's on private track or runway and pit bike on private land or pitbike track. there are plenty around so no excuse really.

Nope. I used to go to Hullavington off junction 17 M4. Didnt know there was anywhere in Swindon, apart from Winners karting and that wasnt very regular. Favoured karting over paying mini motoing??!!

Ah, yeah you mean Winners. The bloke there seemed abit odd....would ring and ask if minis were running, turn up and loose half hour to an hour mini moto time because of Karting. He doesnt do minis know anyways.

B1 watercooled rep. Built it from a box of spares my mate had lol Did have a chinese Fila Ducati rep Cag mk2 before that. I havent been for well over a year TBH. Might dust it off and get out later this year. Mate at work takes his lad to the championship rounds. Track at Matchams comes highly recomended by him!
