Bootlid and bonnet still look abit "pink" IMO, but that may be the angle/light.

Good job though.

Nice amp on display on your parcel shelf aswell....a thieves dream!

Tcut works to get the scratches and blemishes out but I would still use a decent wax to but back over the top. I prefer to use Mer (see pic) :D

It looks pretty good though but you have missed the two massive white squares L lol

WTF is that on the wing????

If you look close it appears to be the reflection of a window or something like that in the paint, shows its got a good shine though!

Thing with red novas is theyre hit and miss on photos, some they look uber red and others a washed out pink i used to get it all the time:cry:

Benn

Good work, but now you need to wax it.
T-cut has a tiny bit of fake wax in it, so you need a good wax over the top or as said it will be pink as knob in a few days.

There are much better polishes out there tho.

Curtoise
06-04-09, 08:56 PM
i have used autoglmy super resin polish to help keep the redness lol

Benn
06-04-09, 08:57 PM
Srp isnt a wax either. You want a stright wax.

Curtoise

recomendations please?

Benn

Any wax, what do you wanna spend?

Well priced is Megs Nxt, even AG's extra gloss over the top would be a start.

go steady on the t-0cut - as its name suggests it'll actually cut more than just the grime off the car - it actually removed a thin layer of lacquer/paint every time you clear the traffic film - hence why your cloth might have turned red.

Should alwayse seal t vcutted areas afterwards with a decent resin polish (see above) - for a real deep shine get a polishing bonnet and G3 compound but then youre getting into anal territory!

Megs stage 1 is quite a fine cut.

New reds dont fade so much apparently. But if an older red car was looked after it would be the same.

well this is why white kicks ass i dont have to t cut it every time i polish it ect and it still comes up perfect!!

Only cause they are new, even with all the bs lacquars these days in 10years with no love they will be faded to funk.

Saw a 01plate astra that was almost white. Hurt me deep down!
I wanted to follow it and buff an d wax it one night for her..

Any real reason?

I'd say T-Cut works as well - I wish I'd had my car G3'd with a buffer but ah well lol

My bonnet and tailgate are the only 2 parts of the car that haven't been painted and they match the rest of the car very well:

PS - The bright sun makes the car look orange :thumb:

Because TCut is quite harsh, use it regularly and your paint will start to get rather thin. Plus it gives off that white dust which can be quite scratchy.

I've never been too impressed with TCut myself, megs has always given a better shine. This is using their 3 stage cut/polish/wax:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Misc/15062006-1.jpg

Any excuse :D

I've seen someone wipe G3 over their front wings a few times only for it to start showing the primer lol

Pistol Pete

Poor paint job obviously! Meg stuff is all well and good, but costs a fooking bomb! G3 would be my choice.
A good going over with T-cut/G3 and then a regular waxing should keep the fade at bay/shine in your paintwork.

Quality costs :D

Mind you, I spent £60 on megs products ~2 years ago. I still have about half the waxes/polishes left. In that time my dad has used God-knows how many bottles of turtle wax, autoglym and tcut :p
