If John doesn't have one available they are found on some late 80's/early 90's Fords, XR2's IIRC. Not 100% they are the DMTL version though.

As far I know you also need the adapter plate too.

if you can find early polo 1.3's or golf 1.3's some have the conversion done, same adapter plate and everyfin!

happy hunting

I dont think Novas ever came with webers as standard - the weber 32/34 DMTL is a diredct replacement for the Pieberg 2E3 - its a manual choked carb so if your cars an auto choke you'll need a choke cable and kn0b from a breakers yard.

There were 3 weber carbs on ebay in the last week ( I was watching 2 myself!)

The 32/34 should fit directly on to a 1.2-1.4 model without rejetting - it will need setting up though on a rolling road as theyre more responsive than the Pieberg and are thirsty...

Avoid K&N filters - go for a soft dome filter - - RamAir do one...its foam based and easy to clean.

As said above in tittle wot cars came with the carb not nova did or did't come with em.

XR2's and nova's are gen now too old to find in breakers round my parts more like early 90's cars in there now.

Yes Nova did not come from the factory with webber apart from the Nova Sport (limited RUNof cars)

If you got one and is in full working order I'll have it ( I have a choke cable as car started life as a 1.2 merit n never removed it thinking I'll need it for the twin 40's never got round to buying)

Pierburg 2e3 is one that uses loads more fuel than the webber not the other way round. My mates have all had them n said they saved a load of doller on fuel

I think you will find they are weber replacement carbs for lots of things. I am pretty sure they were not std on anything. Alos chances are if the jets are wronf it will cost a bit to put the right.

1.0's had a 32TL weber, the 36TLP was the direct replacement for the pierburg 1B1 on 1.2's and early 1.3's (which wen't very well on my old 1.2).

just to let you know early mk2xr2's came with a 32/34 dft carb, but a lot of xr2 owners also use the dmtl/dmtr/datr as an upgrade, but be carefull what carb you buy,if going on a 1.3/1.4 you want it to have venturis around 23-24 which is whats on the polos,im about to fit a DATR 32/34 on my xr2 but the venturis are 25-27 which would be overkill on a 1.3/1.4

ok cool. thanks just after one some1 else has used on the nova then upgrade to twin webbers or GTE lump etc...so I know it works n all that.

mikey14sr: mine is a sport so a 1.2 carb would under fuel her surely n my current carb is a 2e3 pierburg

You have a sport with a 2e3 fitted? what happened to the 40's? or is it just a 1.3?

1.2's and 1.3's were both fitted with the 1B1 pierburg until 85, when they upgraded the 1.3 to the 2E3, so a 1B1 would work though might restrict the power a little (not sure on this, maybe with a decent set-up it'd be just as good).

I've had the same 32/34 dmtl fitted to both 1.3 and 1.4 engines while I had my SR and all that was needed was a re-tune, though with the piper 285 cam I had in the 1.4 it was struggling to get enough air through for maximum power even without a filter on, pulled from 40 to 90 in fifth bloody well though.

1.0 novas came with the weber 32/34

 You sure?

Anyone mentioned Land Rovers yet? 32/34 DMTL was fitted to old petrol 90's.

lol aye, the 1.0 carb was a Weber, but not a 32/34. Why would they fit a twin choke carb on a poverty spec car!

As I posted earlier, 1.0 had a 32TL........
