Anyone know a spray paint that matches or is close to original Mk1 SR bumper colour?
Cheers :thumb:
mayhem had a great colour match for an early mk1 snowplough, but he lives in holland. mid grey from a decent paint supplier seems to be the best bet.
were they painted??
why not strip it and peanut butter it
like me, some people have got bumpers that have been painted, some have modified them or repaired them with grp. they are looking for paint to make them look standard.
I belive GTE fronts are acualy yellow once you strip back the paint lol

Mine havent been sprayed or modified, theyre just in really bad condition colour wise.
How hard is using a heat gun?
lol dont use a heat gun
go do to some cheap super market (morrisons as i work there) and buy smooth peanut butter and rub it in works instantly and bought mine back from proper light gre, you will not be disapointed
Piss easy! I was acualy using a blow torch on a plastic table earlier lol
Wouldnt do it on a nova bumper though. Just keep enough heat in it, you wont melt it though
IMO martin heat gun is better than smearing food (if you can call it food) all over car parts

lol
lol my peanut butter theory still doing the rounds!
For reference the paint code I believe is L107.
Peanut butter does work and leaves your hands lovely and soft afterwards - the peanut oil removed traffic film - it also worls greay on your vinyl and plastic trim.

I got laughed at when i said i used peanut butter on my bumper :(
thats because they are FOOLS! You know the benefits! If these FOOLS think spending £10 on a bottle of so called restorer is better than 34p from Asda then you should be laughing at them!
I do - it's brilliant!
Borrowed/five finger discounted bumper gel from work FTW:thumb:
They are all "detailers" who spend about as much as much as their car is worth on polishes etc...thats just boring, food is much better
