Figured this would be the best place to put this one (please move if you feel its in the wrong place)

X14XE engine with 1.6 nova rad and astra Aircon fan. Now ive cleared that up...

Running the car up, temp gauge gets close to half way on the standard nova gauge, fan dosnt kick in, but if i power it up via the rad temp switch its fine.
Temp gauge gets to about half way and then it boils the water (yesterday i didnt have the cap on, and today it poped off the bottom hose) and overflows.

The rad feels warm, as does the water while running.

Tried 3 rad temp switchs with no luck. Fuse is fine.

Any ideas?

Rad switch is dead... Try replacing it :)

Yer, Ive been through everything else too. Only other thing i could think of was that the rad was blocked or somthing around sensors area. Meh

New sensor is only about a tenner so.

my 1.2 would touch 3/4 on the mk1 temp gauge before the fan kicked in.
