im going to fiberglass up the old cut-out and spary the bottom in the closest colour i can find.

Because not that its on i like how it sits and how it comes out straight, if i send it back, ill get one that comes out and an angle. I'd have been happy with this if this was delivered, but looking at the straight one i think i prefer it.

Ive just emailed them saying i was unhappy about receiving a different product to the one listed and said they should make sure all the listings have that kind of information on them (Mk1 or Mk2)

I have a sportex back box mate on my MK1 and it's a straight exit exhaust that sits perfectly in the cut out.

I'd personally get onto Ashley and get them to either get a proper one you wanted or give you your money back. no point doing MK2 mods just to get the backbox to fit. Keep it MK1 and get something that fits right.

rather than bodge over the original hole and then make a c0ck of the spray job (which wont match because your bumper has faded but can be restored using smooth peanut butter) just unclip the lower valance (where the exhaust part is) cut the exhaust circle off, cut a length of plastic above the exhaust and swap them round - plastic weld them in place, smooth - job done!

Who you buying from off ebay as theres two diffrent sellers and only one is ashley.

I bought a ashley exhaust for my old GTE and it came out straight and in the bumper cut out.

it would help, if it could be unclipped, but it cant...

only the gte's had a removable bottom lip

id get the back box swaped me if it does not fit right shurely you can send it back!! at least get on to the firm that suplied it!!
