lol, Quinn are after £1215 for me to insure the vectra, when the cheapest elsewhere is £240!

Oh, and that's a standard car and I'm 30, got 10 years ncb and never had a point on my licence.

My advice, drive a std sh*tter for a year and dont crash it!
Save the whole time thru the year, then when you have a ncb you can start modding it.

+1. It is a known fact that you are highly likely to stack your first car, hence paying through the nose to insure.

I've went with Admiral with the insurance as that's who my dad is with

I'm on my own name with my dad as the 2nd driver which means I'll be building up my own NCB

That's for the provisional insurance also TPFT - £434

No idea what it'll jump to when I pass my test though lol

Alloys, lowered and rear spoiler???

When i was a lad lol it worked out cheaper to insure an SR than a 1.2 with the above fitted.

because you dont has to behave so much, Due to no parents in car and more likly to try showing off.

I passed my test, had license two days, had a race 10:15pm with another lad. both of us, had two passengers. my mk1 957cc fiesta his 1.1 mk1 escort. 30mph road with a long left hand bend. he was over taking parked cars on his left I was over taking him, you couldnt see round bend and doing up to 80mph. Very silly looking back. I won though. I had to turn round and go back because I passed my mates turning lol. this is why though.

Because you're under supervision when learning. Technically, leaners aren't considered in "control" of a car, the person they're with is, and is responsible for it (the supervisor must have insurance on the car as well as the learner).

Hence why if you're a learner and you whip past a gatso doing 40 in a 30, both you AND your supervisor get points - Thats why I never liked going out with my ex in her car. Her driving was hairy at best, the last thing I wanted was a black mark on my driving record because she couldn't drive for toss lol

As soon as you pass, you're on your own. Post-test drivers are statistically more likely to crash than learners.

its completely different over here when i first took out my policy on a provisonal at the age of 17 it was 3,800 and that was on a 98 opel combo!!!when i passed my test i got just shy of a grand off the rest of the years policy, that was three years ago and now its just under 1500

£800 as a learner ?

I put down that I had just passed my test and that my car was kept in a garage (which it is) and they quoted me...£4800 lol (Fully Comp)

I think it was about £1800 TPFT
