Best getting it rolling road tuned, they can get it spot on using the computer equipment. I would suggest a good starting point would be the standard 1300 sport configuration to get it going.

For the 1400:

Chokes: 30mm
Main: 120
Pump: 40
Air: 185
Idle: Can't remember. This wont effect performance, but might get a slight hiccup when moving off and the carb switches to mains.

Emulsion: Use whatever is in the carb. These aren't specific to engine size, they change the driving charectersitic, i.e whether suitable for smooth progression, or balls out power.

I'm getting a 1.4 sr engine this weekend and I will be getting some twin 40's in a few weeks time but does any one know how much they are new ? and will bigger trumpets make any difference ?

New will cost you arround ?700.

Longer trumpets = more low down torque, less peak BHP.

Shorter trumpets = more peak BHP, and shifts the torque up the rev range.

Torque won't be a prob on that engine, so have shorter trumpets.
