This one (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_71 6867_langId_-1_categoryId_165554) or one very similar to it was highly reccomended on the mondeo forums a few months ago when it was on offer for £150.

we used britax baby seats, they can withstand some serious abuse. then we just bought cheap polystyrene boosters

My mrs works in a shop selling car seats etc (Baby and toddler shop) and has been on various courses (Britax and Recaro) to correctly advise customers which car seat is best suited to their vehicle. Each seat they sell is fitted in the customers car prior to selling it, if it does not fit, they will not sell it regardless how much they want that particular seat. Not every car seat is suited to all cars. My advice would be to take your car somewhere reputable and get them to fit the seat in your car first before you buy anything. Make sure the person dealing with you is trained to advise you.
There, done my bit!!!:)
^^^Well said dude, have some rep:thumb:
