engine mount problem??

i`ve just put my xe engine in and found that the bolt that goes through the nearside (passenger) engine mount, touches the gearbox. Ive managed to get the nut on, but im thinking this may cause vibration through the body, once the car is running??

anyone had this problem before???

help/advice would be gratefully received!!!

Shorter bolt?

Had the same trouble with mine and it took a while to find where it was coming from as it was only vibrating under acceleration. If you can't find a shorter bolt I just hacksawed the end of and cleaned the thread up on an old bolt.

cut the end down, its that easy, use a jr. hacksaw whilst its on the car.

Space the bolt out, washers under the bolt head....

turn the bolt round so the head is at the gearbox side.

Put a couple of washers between the metal gearbox mount and the gearbox
