lol

So you provide a fully prepped shell?

Stitch welded and with teh gearbox mount cut and re-welded?

And a painted engine bay?

Would you supply the mounts and all teh pipework, shafts, intercooler?

Silicon hoses to mount the FMIC?

If you want to bodge it, go right ahead.

If you supply all of the above, I would guess a few hundred quid

Hmmm - OK, it never works out that way when you do cars for people ime....

A friend of mine would take this on if you were serious, he has done around 25 conversions and has a fully equipped garage in S Wales.

PM me if you are interested.

in that case it is a bodge job, the let needs a f28 or a uprated f20. you will grenade a std f20. a friend of mine paid big money to have a let and f20 fitted to a corsa and it ate the box within 3 months, on std boost settings.
fit the box designed for the engine dude.

Agreed - F28 is the only way to do a proper job

Its just an engine. As long as the bays all done and you have the ic fitment sorted then £250-300 max.

or an F23... if you can get the Cv joints/shafts to fit. The F23 is a properly robust beastie

iirc the vectra b f23 has the same mounnt as a f20/18/16.. shafts are the same too. its just the cables... use the corsa c 1.7 sri cdti set up and it should be right length tho.

Stuart

or some custom cables.. they arent expensive (and I know lol)

yea mate, have a go yourself, why pay anyone else to put it in.

least if youve done it yourself you know if it goes wrong where to look...

i need someone to do it because i aint got a garage or the tools to do the job but i will be there helping if i can

what needs to be done to the mounts for an f28 and what about the gear linkage

EUROTURBO

front gearbox mount is furthur forward than F20 one so the mount position needs to be moved (cut and re-welded in), linkage is no more hastle than a F20 Linkage...

Would you trust some random to fit a LET for you? 1k worth of engine, and £?? worth of prep on the shell..? Surely you'd want someone with a reputation, or some experience rather than a random joe who'll do it for a couple hundred.

As said, if you've got the shell all ready for it, have a go yourself. No need for a garage, use the driveway..and as for the tools, i'm sure there's a few lads on here that would be happy to fire down your way and lend a hand. :thumb:

id say have a go yourself mate, provided you can get bay weldid up.ive just put a v6 engine in my nova on my drive with only 2 axle stands helping me, sumtimes means lying under car with a wet back wen rain starts but its all good and v6 more difficult than lets to do. thers lots of good lads on here who will keep you right and if you hit any problems post them up on here and we will sharp overcome them for you.. . and you carnt beat the feeling driving the end result wen you know you did the work yourself. . .
