I'm more of a counter-strike man myself. However, I might get a copy of UT 2003 in the near future, I might need to upgrade my pc first. 1.1ghz just isn't enough these days :(

Battlefield 1942 is the game for me. Only thing is, when I get home from work, the last thing I want to do is sit infront of another PC. I usually just play it for a little while at lunch or something.

i play with something else 8)
Unreal Tournament 2003 is a QUALITY game. just thought that i would mention it.
its also important to have a good GFX card with this gamne. my 128Mb ti4600 card kicks ass on it.
i got the very 1st beta release and it was buggy and slow as 'fcuk' also the bots wer a bit tooo good even on a low level.
iv been through all these kindsa games, doom/quake/unreal and this 1 is no exception its brilliant and miles better playing some m8s than the normal game!!

dell dimension 8200 - nVIDIA grfx card, p4 the works and its a minter
1.1ghz isnt enough for UT2003?
pc programers are lazy, look at the speccy they used to sort there code out to run faster not force u to upgrade every year
I say it's not fast enough, it probably is, but I like my games to run really smooth. Theres nothing more annoying than playing in "jerk-o-vision".
As for prgrammers being lazy. Really the reason why games are so processor intensive is because the general public want games to look bigger and better than the last. To do that you need to add more geometry and textures to the artwork in the game. Then theres the A.I. People want to be able to play single player mode, but they want the computer players to almost interact with the player and act as if a human is controlling them.
At the end of the day 3D games are going to get more detailed and require faster pc's in order to run them. If you wanna blame someone, blame Bill Gates :D

If you wanna blame someone, blame Bill Gates :D
and give jim a break
you wanna all join the same server or want 1 of us to host a server and hand out the IP?
maybe we should arrange a LAN party, haah :)
If were gonna do this then I'll need to get a copy first. I'll be up for it :)
Jim
if you cant get a copy let me know. i can make some backups ;)
http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=guide&dId=392
might be worth looking at before playing the game!!
not that this concerns any of us i thought id just tell you anyways...
if you copy this game and all use the same 'key' it wont let you play multiplayer. when you join the server it checks your key and if somebody has already joined with that key it wont let you on!!
i wonder how many keys you can find online any1.........
mikeoxford

me and 2 mates are using the same key............. :?
so you say its works ok then? maybe they have not included this security feature in this version of unreal. do you have the patch installed mike?

On kazza, search for a thing called a Keygen. i.e. "Unreal 2003 keygen" This wil make a unique serial number up. hence your problem has gone forever

www.uprisinglan.co.uk
im holding a 50-60 person lan party in march if your interested :D
just tested it out and you must have unique serials or it kicks you off the server. found 3 so far
LYR22-RZ743-A9D7T-CNNEN
EHJRB-QYC2H-A4246-CW7DK
MHR37-ACHG6-A8FR7-CEC2V
if you cana dd any to this list please do
ye it apears to access a database or something.
if i host a game then my m8s conect they get kicked off cuz of the key thing even if we all use different keys. so probably its being checked against something else rather than just the players on that server. i got loadsa dodgy german blokes joining it lol
does anybody wanna join my server sometime tonight and have a go ?
let me know what time over msn
c001_female@hotmail.com <<<<dont ask
I'm going to buy a copy this weekend. I'll be up for some fraging over the weekend :D

got the cds today
mikes in for a beatin when he comes online tonight afta work
right i have an idea. i tested the game on my LAN and it works, me and a few m8s know howto trick it to play on the net but its a little to complicated so wev come up with another idea.
sending my m8s brother into HMV on a covert operation to retrieve some 'virgin' cd keys

i ent no self confessed pro - but i was ranked high in the world on the old UT
used to kane my mates asses - literally
always been better at q3 arena
prefer ut now tho
i dont like q3 arena
in the days of quake and quake2 meand a few m8s had a clan going and we certainly kicked some ass :) even thought we only had 56k conection with a ping slower than i could send a carrier pidgeon
Quake 2 was awesome. Me and my mate use to play over a lan at Uni and add some bots. There would be me and him against 10bots on a capture the flag map. I also use to play it on a lan with about 5 or 6 others, it was really good fun.
I might go out and buy UT2003 tonight, you lot are getting me in the mood :)

his server ent always on AFAIK it isnt a server he has running - by server he refers to setting his game mode as server so that others can connect and it opens a port on his PC.
well nobody joined the other day so i turned it off lol. let me know on msn if u wanna try again
