Um, installed a roof aerial from Halfords against the better advice from a lot of Novaloaders... now the stupid thing won't pick up any radio stations whatsoever. :? So, is it correctly wired? I thought there was only one wire and thats connected by the screw at the bottom of the aerial to the wire, that then runs to the head unit. I had to use an extension lead - could this affect it?
What can i do? Bloody thing!
Joe
there are 2 types of ariel (theres more but based on the one youve got) - the one you have has a short lead and the other one has a comple long lead (designed for rear fitting).
If the ariel is of the bee sting variety, some come with amplifiers built in - you sound like you have the same one i have (and I get excellent reception).
Just make sure the extension is firmly plugged into the existing lead and the other end if firmly plugged into the correct hole in yer stereo. Sometime it can feel like its in but needs a good push to lock in place

If I was u mate den id S.O.D. da ariel!
I got my dad one of them bee sting ariels from halfords! OK it wrked pretty well but after a while tho it went dead but now its ok!
Do wot i did and get a good quality wire and plug it into ur head unit. Feed da rest of da wire discreetly to a point in da car and cap da end of da wire with a metal endcap den screw da wire into da body of the car.
This way it will use you whole car as an ariel to pick up radio waves and trust it wrks better then halfords ?12 bee sting!
Sounds mad but it aint and ur car dnt have to be drilled or have an external ariel. LOOKS TIDY!!
