Q Mike
Im after some imfo on a crx si as ive been offered one at a very silly price from a close friend who has owned it since new.
The car it self was bought in canada and is on an f plate.
It also has diplomatic plates for australia/Malasia/italy and many other places as dew to her husbands job they move around alot.
They were going to take the crx with them this time but are not sure weather they are coming back or not so offered it to me as they wanted it to go to a good home.
It is like the one in the picture its also a lhd but it has one owner from new 60k miles on the clock and only a little carpark scuff on the rear quater.
Any imfo about these cars would be great as they are moving in two weeks so need to know asap to make my mind up.
The nova is going nowere but this could be a good little toy lol.
I will get some pic's but it is as the one in the pics.
Thanks for reading all this.
ps yes its yellow but not fadded.

Mate of mine had 2 vtec models (the vti i think). Well specced cars and for a 1600, a rocket ship IMO.

i dont get why they get such a hard time. the handling is awesome and the engines are much better than any of our vaux ****

Hobbit
31-03-09, 11:02 AM
My best mate had both a non vtec and vtec model, both were very fast in standard form, he used to upset alot of people off the lights. The back seats are pointless but your used to that with the nova.

^ lol whats your name, sloth??!!

Sloth
31-03-09, 01:08 PM
somebody mention saab? lol

in all seriousness, theyre good cars. rear calipers seize and are expensive, cv joints go, and the vtec valves die. tho youll know bout that stufff being ex honda.....

Pistol Pete
31-03-09, 01:27 PM
As i said before my mate had 2 of them (the first one he wrote off) and neither if them missed a beat. And they were driven hard aswell. Yorkshire back roads are very unforgiving IMO!

Sloth
31-03-09, 01:48 PM
id like a 1.6 vtec one with a turbo.......

Pistol Pete
31-03-09, 01:55 PM

31-03-09, 11:41 PM
i dont know much about them but i LOVE them. always been a car that i keep meaning to buy. and out of all the cars out there, a black vtec one is in my top 3 cars.

i will own one soon.

01-04-09, 12:41 AM
love the crx - almost bought an H reg one recently - theyre like novas in many ways - rust around rear arches and so on but are sexy as!

Steve
01-04-09, 12:47 AM
How much do they want for it? Personally i'd buy it, hondas arent bad its just the idiots they buy/ chavify them.

Sloth
01-04-09, 01:05 AM
oh god im in love.....

Ernie
01-04-09, 07:10 AM
All im waiting on is for her husband to agree on a price.
The reason she is selling it cheap is beacuse we have know them for many years and that i would look after it.
She has seen that i can keep novas going so this would be easy lol.
The money that she gets for it is going strait to her nephew to get a cheap first car to take to uni as she doesnt want him to have the crx as he would kill it.

burgo
01-04-09, 09:36 AM
it says in my first post that it is a lhd Burgoahh you see you assume i actually read posts properly. my time is far to important or that lol

Mike
01-04-09, 04:11 PM
Get it bought! There fantastic little cars, mega capable FWD Jap veteran!! Much more power from a small engine then any of this Vaux/GM sheet!!

As some ones already said, turbo it up and your looking towards 280bhp & 9k-rpm wheel spin in 4th styleee!

Only thing Im not keen on about the vehicle mentioned is obviously LHD, I fecking hate driving left hookers (Just my personal opinion obviously).

dj_wudgey
01-04-09, 04:14 PM
loving the yellow one shame its a left hooker!!

Mike
01-04-09, 04:21 PM
Oh yeah, just bear in mind LHD cars are blaady hard to sell on in the UK :thumb: so there may be an issue here if you come to re-sell it.

Saying that, this car would break on eBay for around £2k in parts alone IMO.

Ernie
09-04-09, 07:21 PM
Cheers Mike i knew i could come up trumps once you had seen the thread.
The good news is they have come to an agreed price of £500.
They need the car for a few more days before they fly out then its mine woop woop.
I just want to get it home and give it a good clean up.
Well take it to my mate who is a bit of a bufty boy and let him clean it lol.

Dan popped round today to get some bits and i wanted him to do the
"I live my life a 1/4 mile at a time" (Vin Diesal style) but he didnt want to get the car dirty.
Well that or he was scared of getting stuck lol.
Nice to see you earlyer and the pic's of your car are going nowere but it looks sweet as.

Ernie

I thought i best update this.
Also could somebody move it to projects so i can find it easyer please thank you admin x x.
After picking up an exhaust i thought i best fit it before the old one fell off.
First off i got her up in the air and took the old exhaust off.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/crx/018.jpg
This was going ok untill the bolts snapped.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/crx/008-2.jpg
I got around this by drilling out the old bolts and fitted some new ones.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/crx/020.jpg
Once the old exhaust was off i noticed it was an orriginal Honda item so may of been on since new ?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/crx/006-2.jpg
Once off tho i could see were it has been fixed in the past.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/crx/005.jpg
And were it was blowing i think  .
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/crx/004-1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/crx/007-2.jpg
Wile under the car i had a quick poke around but found no holes.
Happy days.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/crx/015-1.jpg
Once the new bolts were fitted aswell as the pipe trims i gave her a quick wash and took her for a spin.
She is so quiet now and i think i bit more nippy lol.
