Pulled my finger out on saturday and got the gsi od the axle stands after waxing underneath.

After reluctantly selling my speedlines on the corsa, i went and picked up original ronals. £30 for the five with 1 being totally mint which is now tucked away in the boot. I also had a brand new centre cap for such an occasion. Got them all cleaned up and fitted all with new bridgestones. Got me a new set of locking wheels nuts from vauxhall and put them on. Also took of the splitter to give her the orignal look again. I think i prefer it off.

And after some time, K&N fitted, both chrome tanks fitted, Chris astley hoses fitted and a coolant change and gave her a sever burn up the road(overdue)!

Just to fit the original steering wheel, change plugs and leads, change both belts, oil change and slick 50 and shes ready for the road again.

I thought the 1.4 16v was quick till i gave this rip up the road agin, no comparison!

Unfortuantly no allowed to upload pics yet. Go to www.ni-vaux.co.uk to see them.

it was ok, bought the grey gsi and silk at the same time and decided to
keep the mistral grey as a rebuild project. (have you seen my thread)
did a bit of work to tidy silk one up and sold it on.

{ the two are together in the photo

Thanks guys. Yes i want to get it to as many shows as possible. In a couple of years, will take engine out, strip the underside, bumpers of and detail underneath it and a engine/gearbox rebuild. Bodywork will hopefully still be ok lol!

how did you manage to fit the 2ltr breaks under the 3 spokes? thought the callipers were too big?

kyler000
01-04-09, 01:22 AM
There not 2ltr brakes. Original calipers with green stuff pads and new discs. Painted calipers silver drums black to keep it original as possible.

What age are you?

Try Campbells in Coleraine for a classic policy if you're over 25, I've all mine and the Manta and Asconas insured for about £300!

Thats half the problem. Im 23. Tried even putting the old fella on as the proposer and me as a named driver but they were having none of it. Maybe just get her on the road for a month keep her taxed and trailer her to shows and stuff.

What about a traders policy?

Thought about that Maurice but do you not have to prove you have a business or constantly buying and selling? Trying to stop selling good cars lol! If not, i would jump at it.

You can get a part time trade policy which includes driving to your normal place of work, or policy's to suit car cleaners mechanics etc.
