ok im in the middle of repainting my nova engine though it came without a airfilter

what size or diameter is my carb - 32-34?

as im relatively new to nova's and carbs, air-intakes etc i would like some advice from some of the pro's

i prefrably want a pancake k&N but i dont know if i want to pay £100 approx on a air filter although im on the look out for a used one on fleebay but i want to kow the fitment (hence this thread)

of a corsa spi and some astra's, maybe cavs?

also i wouldnt mind the cheaper alternative of using a corsa spi air intake with a cone, anyone got one for sale or point me in the direction of getting one as ebay doesnt have any used spi's and all i can seem to find is the cone itslf and not 'cup' that mounts to the carb

any help appreciated and im sorry if i sound like a complete 12 year old, im not :(

any links or advice welcome

Most pancake air filters are for carbed engines not SPi (injection) engines iirc.

Which ever filter you go for you will probably need to retune the engine as the mix will go out (more air in). I had a 1.4 engine and used a K&N but in winter it was a botch because the metal lids on them made cold are condence and freeze - causing the car to stall all the time!

I swapped it for Ramair sponge filter and that was a hundred times better for a fraction of the price...

Just leave the binlid and take off the front section and replace the filter.

a SPI intake elbow will NOT fit a carb, holes arnt even close.

i bough the car without a filter at all with the carb exposed

rather than buy a dustbin id rather buy a pancake K&N

anyone have one forsale?
