I'd budget £70 per hout + parts + VAT. I'd say 1-2 hourd depening if everything is in order eg throttle linkages etc. Where are you in the country?

Thats daylight robbery for a power run!!

Mt brother his haveing his gsi with 2.1 8v, piper 285 cam and 45's set up on the rollers for £48ph at 3hours. Thats completely stripping the carbs, jettign and balancing. Plus thats using a wide band lambda on the rollers as well!

Shop about, look for old school tuners that know the ins and outs of carbs.

Dont have a carb so im not bothered about that, just looking into if my car had the same or more power then it did when it come off the line 16 odd years ago lol neadless to say i declined and left it, think ill get a rr setup done when i spend some money on engine, find out what the lil 1200 is running!

I don't want to sound rude... But why? Its a 1200, its not worth worrying about what power it has. especially at a cost of £85... Thats expensive in its own right, but you could have purchased a 1400/1600 engine for that!

yeah i know, wanna keep the 1200, not going to rr it till i put a few bob in there, but a FEW bob. not going mad with it! Im depating on a small block XE something like a 1.4 or a 1.6, but again aint going mad with it.

I wasn't trying to sound rude or patronising... £85 is a hell of alot to pay just to be told your 1.2 is still only making 60hp etc. Like you say, drive it till you can afford to pay for a 16v small block etc. 100+hp out of the box :)

yeah think i will lol and dont worry chimp i know you werent being rude or owt, & £85 for 3 runs and no tuning is a bit steep considering the prices that have been posted.......... i think im going to be getting myself some savings together to go out and get the engine & bodywork sorted, but in the meantime im going to do little things and tweek this and that :D

do things that can be used with other engines... suspension exhaust etc

yeah thats the idea for now...... well bodywork mostly as thats getting beyond a joke, getting suspension sorted out soon trying to keep it pretty good and make it into a nice powerful GT so that i can live with it as well as bomb about in her too

cheers for the advice! everything i have done so far to the engine (except the ported head) can be transferred to another 8v nova of larger size so thats cool. lol.

£85 does seem alot for a power run! they are normally around £40-£50. lol.
