VXandy's NovaVan WIP

Well as some of you aware i've just bought a NovaVan recently to use as a daily untill I get the Corsa on the road. Its not a bad little van, only problem areas (rust wise) are the bottom of the wings and at the bottom of the doors. Arches all seem to be fine aswell as chassis legs:D

Anyway i bought the Van knowing it had a rad fan problem, i.e it doesn't frigging work . . .

. . . Anyway a few days later i managed to seize the blumming thing (silly i know). I actually was looking over the car as i noticed a fuel leak coming from a pipe leading over to the carb whilst it was running, whilst doing this i received a phone call from the enemy. So i then left the van running. Went inside to have the phone call and then have a cuppa forgetting the van was running. I then strolled into the garage unsuspectingly only to find myself walking into a home made sauna. I think you all know where this is going . . . Yeah i know im a tool. Bottom hose had popped off and basically broken my poor engine!

So anyway, i've now removed the old engine/gearbox etc which gives me the perfect oppurtunity to give the old girl a good look over and overall im pretty pleased.

Next on the agenda is to fit another 1.2 8v engine for the time being; which Andy_017 is kindly supplying from his 30k MK1 just to get the old girl back on the road.

I don't recall seeing a silky van, good result on selling the x20, money in the bank, is the corsa going a head now then? how much does the van owe you so far?

Im really regreting it like but i do need the cash, the corsa is still going ahead im just waiting for my car to go.

Ideally i would be too matey but i need a daily when the 20XEV has gone and the engine thats going in Andy_017 is kindly donating to my Van charity as money is restrictive, its the best way for me at the moment, that doesn't mean they'll be bigger and better things in the future:thumb:

looks good andy mine was rotten out so i cut the van panels out and made another. gets a lot more looks than the same car 2 weeks before! Good luck with the build mate

Well i've finally began to crack on with this: I'll start with the before pictures and then start adding some after pictures, but i've seen some pretty good results from this with very little work needed to be complete!

Basically what i've done is completely stripped the van apart from the dash. I invested in a pressure washer during the week so i've managed to TFR pretty much the whole car (engine bay, interior and inner arches) and im pretty pleased with the results. It does however need a new N/S sill and a small patch on the front crossmember but apart from that its a pretty good shell! As you can see in some of the oictures i've also managed to give it a good polish and wax and im pretty pleased.

Does anybody know how to remove waxoyl? Its all over the engine bay and it'd be good to get it off!

Yeah still got it bud, its just been sat there for months gathering dust, so i thought i'd best crack on! It needs a new sill and i want to underseal and waxoyl underneath before i start building it back up, but i do want to put a c16xe in it, but we'll just have to see;)

it was a 1.2 petrol to start with it now has a 1.4 8v sri engine and box in gsi dash, seats and door cards for now may be a respray over winter
